Sailing through the Storm

Flashes of clarity, what do we see?
The endless struggle to stay afloat,
on this stormy seas which is life.
The sheer emptiness baffles,
Yet the chaos engulfs,

And the faces seem to fade,
Clouds cloud hopeful thoughts,
Fighting to get a grip,
Yet failure taunts,
A seemingly losing battle,
To the uncontrolled rushing in of thoughts
From places unknown,

We can only stare in the blank,
Fleeting moments we yet hold on.

Like candlelight far away on a shore.
